Toyota Connected Europe (TCEU) is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and proactive hands-on People Business Partner to serve as the primary point of contact for our newly established Wroclaw office.
This is our first People role in Poland and an opportunity to be one of the first employees in the Wroclaw office. The role will be key in building a positive culture and employee experience, supporting local leadership, and establishing policies and processes from the ground up in line with company strategy, and adapting our UK practices to the Polish context, with governance, compliance, and putting people first at the heart of everything we do.
The People Business Partner will work closely with managers and employees across the Wroclaw site, collaborating with regional HR teams to support the office through a period of rapid growth. The role requires someone hands-on, who is comfortable working with limited support, who can proactively take ownership in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
While this role combines strategic People business partnering with hands-on People Operations responsibilities, requiring both advisory capability and operational excellence, the successful candidate should also be comfortable taking on wider operational tasks, including office management responsibilities, which will form part of their day-to-day responsibilities.
HR Partnership & Employee Support:
· Act as the main HR contact for employees and managers within the Wroclaw office.
· Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, policies, and other workplace matters.
· Build trusted relationships with local leadership teams to support business goals and growth.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
Office Growth & HR Build-Out:
· This is a greenfield HR role: you will be responsible for creating and executing a roadmap to build HR foundations in Poland from the ground up, fully owning delivery from A to Z in alignment with the wider company strategy, with support from the People Manager based in our London office.
· Design and implement core People policies, processes, and frameworks tailored to a growing local operation, adapting UK practices to the Polish context.
· Ensure compliance with Polish labour law, GDPR, and internal governance standards in all HR processes.
· Support the research and introduction of scalable systems, automation, and tools to enable efficient HR operations as the office grows.
· Support the successful ongoing development of the Wroclaw office, including onboarding processes and other employee lifecycle activities.
· Coordinate with facilities, IT, finance, and operations teams on office and employee-related initiatives.
Talent & Performance Management:
· Partner with hiring managers and recruitment teams to support hiring activities and talent acquisition strategies.
· Collaborate with the People Advisor (UK) to adapt onboarding processes for local context and take ownership of leading onboarding and integration activities for new employees in Poland.
· Support performance review cycles, talent development initiatives, and succession planning discussions.
· Collaborate with the People Development Partner to identify training, development and recognition needs and support the coordination of local learning and recognition opportunities.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
· Provide guidance on employee relations matters while ensuring compliance, consistency and fairness.
· Conduct and support investigations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution where required.
· Maintain accurate HR records and documentation in line with GDPR and company standards and own other People operations activities.
Compensation, Benefits & Reward (nice to have):
· Support the design, implementation, and management of local compensation and benefits structures aligned with company philosophy and local market practices.
· Partner with the London-based People Team to ensure consistent application of reward frameworks, job levelling, and pay review processes.
· Provide guidance to managers on compensation decisions, ensuring fairness, competitiveness, and compliance.
· Own relationships with local benefits providers and support continuous improvement of employee value proposition in Poland.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Several years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work independently and build structure in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience supporting a growing or newly established office environment is highly desirable, ideally within an international organisation where direction and frameworks are set at regional level but adapted locally.
· Strong knowledge of Polish labour law and HR best practices.
· Fluent in Polish and English, both written and spoken.

· A clear roadmap of projects and activities, executed on time and to a high standard, with HR seen as a trusted and accessible partner by employees and managers.
· HR processes are tech-enabled, compliant, scalable, and aligned with company standards.
· Smooth onboarding and integration of new hires into the Wroclaw office, supporting a strong employee experience from day one.
· Strong employee engagement and retention.
· Positive collaboration between the Wroclaw office and relevant teams across TCEU and the wider Toyota organisation.
· Strong understanding and application of the Toyota Way, acting as a champion of company values and embedding them consistently across all HR practices and employee experience.
Timelines:
We like to be up front about our interview process and expected timelines, and whilst we concede that things don't always go to plan, we will endeavour to stick to the following:
Application Deadline - 5th June (we may wait until first thing on Monday 8th before closing the role, but it will depend on the level of applicants we receive so we would suggest applying sooner than later.
Initial Application Review & Screening - including a voluntary psychometric assessment; to be concluded w/c 8th June.
Interview - 45 minutes, remote (via Teams) with someone from the Poland Hub and someone from the People Team during w/c 15th June.
Interview - 45 minutes, face-to-face in our Wroclaw office on Thursday 25th June.
It is our aim to have someone join is for the start of August, notice period and availability dependant, so we will be looking to conclude feedback promptly.
